PLEASE READ: This is not a reshade preset or anything to do with it.

If you want the most in-depth look at what this mod does and how it's been achieved, I have a YT channel where I post daily: https://www.youtube.com/@fromsoftserve

What does Dark Souls Re-Remastered mod do?
1. Add Dynamic Shadows to the whole game world & Remove baked lighting from most of the game world
2. AI upscale textures by 2x or 4x. Mostly 2x hovering around 2K resolution. Also, they are 100% faithful to the OG textures. Only detail is enhanced. No artistic changes.
3. Better water reflections
4. Fix mesh issues like holes, seams, windows not being see-through, etc.
5. More coherent transitions between areas as far as lighting and color goes.
6. Alters the lighting in most areas (Firelink shrine is perfect example)
7. Removal of the player lantern in most areas, but kept for dark areas (better shadows and immersion)
8. Add Skull Lantern and Sunlight Maggot to Undead Burg Vendor (probably will remove in the future)
9. Firelink shrine is now visible from Undead Burg, Darkroot Garden from Undead Burg, real Sens Fortress from Undead Burg, Real Anor Londo from Duke's Archives. And more. Before, they were low poly distant versions that didn't look too hot or didn't show up at all.
10. Depth of Field changes to make it used more often and stronger.
11. Adding dynamic grass to areas that make sense like Firelink Graveyard, Darkroot Garden, Duke's Archives, etc.
12. New landscape meshes to be seen from undead burg and darkroot garden. Distant trees, lakes of water
13. Added fog to Firelink Graveyard, more fog to darkroot garden, and distant fog to new distant meshes.
14. Beginning to open up hidden areas of the map which were unfinished. Good example is boarded up areas in Lower Undead Burg.
15. easter eggs that I won't reveal ;)

Can you play online?
Maybe. The mod has grown in scope sooooo much since I started it. I'm not modifying map files, model files, texture files, etc. I play online, but I've had a data fraud warning for months, prior to even starting modding. So, I still see phantoms, bloodstains, etc. I've been playing with the mod installed for hundreds of hours and I've never been fully banned or anything. We don't fully know what will trigger a ban. So, I just want to be fully upfront that you play online at your own risk. Could be fine, but at this point, I can't definitively say one way or the other. I don't blame people for playing offline with it. I've seen some comments of PvP issues with the mod. I genuinely don't know why this is, since I'm not touching netcode, but I have messing with basically everything else, so could be the reason.

Known Issues:
-Shadow moire issues in Anor Londo and Sen's Fortress. looks like lines on the shadows.
-since I'm adding new distant mappieces, I'll commonly fuck up and leave something in, or something will render when I don't want it to. I'm squashing bugs daily, though.

Other bugs will be found, but I'll squash them as soon as I can. If you could post a picture with your bug report that would be ideal. Tysm!

Installation:
Unpack the rar file using WinRAR
Copy the map, menu, msg, obj, and param folders inside the download folder to your Dark Souls Remastered game folder where the exe file is.
Overwrite when asked.
That's it. Easy peasy.
Updates to the mod are the same process.

Uninstallation:
Delete your map, param, obj, and menu folders inside your Dark Souls Remastered game folder. Verify local files with Steam. Boom, done.

Future plans:
I do want to look at the potential of bonfire shadows like I added for DS2 and that are present in DS3. Not sure if it's possible.
I'd like to upscale every texture in the game if possible. I tried a 4x upscale and the game just crashed repeatedly. So I need to aim for a 2x AI upscale since the base textures are actually decent in many areas. 4x wasn't needed. DSR 2020 texture pack is quite good, but AI upscaling has come a long way since then I think.
